Marvellous Minibeast Incursions with Live Minibeasts!

We present a diverse range of minibeasts in our incursions; from butterflies to crayfish, giant litter-bugs to stick insects and mantids to pond-life.

Aligned to your teaching

Our programs are teacher-delivered, complement the curriculum and come with free pre- and post-incursion resources.   We’re experienced in teaching from kinder to VCE and will work with you to tailor our visit to your focus.

Interactive learning

Your students will be buzzing after this very hands-on minibeast incursion, we bring a bug tent, full of butterflies, stick insects and other creepy crawlies where your students are guided by us to safely handle, feed and interact with our minibeasts.

As students rotate through the tent they also engage with minibeasts at our activity stations, where they can catch waterbugs, study bugs under microscopes, design warning colour patterns and explore life cycles.

Our minibeast incursions encompass:

  • Features and adaptations

  • Life cycles

  • Habitats

  • Food Chains

  • Interdependence

We can tailor an incursion to your learning focus and bring information learnt over years of experience in science industry and insect keeping.  After all, we do run one of Australia's biggest commercial butterfly farms!

With great feedback from teachers and many repeat bookings we’re confident that our visit will be talked about long after we have gone.

All incursions are Victorian Curriculum aligned, come with free pre- and post-incursion resources as well as email and phone support for any questions that you and your students have following our visit.
